Quick- Hotels Near Heathrow
« on: February 10, 2008, 08:11:39 PM »
I've got an early flight on Wednesday morning outta Heathrow, but  I'm planning on flying into Heathrow the night before, this Tuesday the 12th.  Can anyone recommend a cheap, clean, hassle free hotel near Heathrow Aiport?
Thanks!

Or a less popular but much cheaper (free) idea is to just sleep at the airport. We've done it quite a few times, though it won't be a very good rest. This site will give you hints on the best places at Heathrow (the best chairs, etc.)  ;)

Back when we were dating and I came here to visit,  I had OCD when it came to missing flights. So if my flight leaves at 8am. I will be at the airport atleast 12 hours early. I'd sleep there instead of paying 100 some odd $ for a night in a hotel near JFK. Usually I'd sit on my luggage up against the wall and sleep. Never had a thing said to me

I once stayed at the Heathrow Ibis. It was relatively cheap (£65 I think, though that was some years ago), but it definitely wasn't pretty. Our room was a depressing little box barely big enough to wedge the bed into. And the TV didn't work.

It wasn't a tragedy, but I didn't try the experiment again.

I have airport OCD, too. I've never slept over at Heathrow, but I've done it at Logan more than once. And Logan isn't one of those busy 24/7 airports. It's not comfy, but nobody cares if you do.

I've stayed at a B&B near Heathrow but, of course, I can't remember the name of it. It was about a 5-10 minute cab ride and was really affordable - much less expensive than a hotel, and much more comfortable than sleeping in the airport! I can't imagine doing that, tbh. Maybe 20 years ago ... nah ... probably not even then.  :-\\\\

Try Googling B&Bs and see what you find!

I was thinking of sleeping in the airport, not because of OCD, but because I'm cheap!  That's why I've waited until now to ask for hotels... ha-ha
But I've weighed the options and decided that sleep is something I will need the next day...
I will check out the B&Bs too.
Thanks for the info everyone!

My boyfriend found a website that had really good deals on hotel rooms. We've stayed at both the Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn.

I can't remember what the website was right now, but we got quite a bit of money off of the room.

Another option is staying at our place.  A minicab is 18 pounds one way, and about 20 minutes.  We have a spare bedroom, and I just washed the duvet!  Send me a message if you're interested.

Oh, and there are buses, and maybe trains, I've just always taken a minicab.

go to www.holidayextras.co.uk and see what they have for a hotel nearby.  We were able to get a room at the Holiday Inn for around £34 and then paid around £6 for a bus to the airport and we were able to park our car there free for the week we were gone - so it was a great deal!

Oh thanks for the hospitality! ;-)
But I think I have decided to be a an ultimate cheapy and sleep in the airport! We'll see how that goes. Good thing I can sleep on airplanes!
