My boots that I ordered.  They are a bit big, but I'll just wear some thick socks with them.   :)

Its been a good week for goodies in the post for me. I got a dress that I fell in love with and was able to find in my size online, a new winter hat, a new desk chair (in a HUGE box hehe), and today a new purple cover for my ipod. I'm kinda sad to not be expecting anything else :p

I managed to miss needing to get the ID... sort of wish I could, though.  Well, if it weren't biometric; I feel right weird not having a government-issued photo ID here!

Oh, and congrats. ;)

Thanks and congrats to you!

just wondering why you don't need an FNID? I guess if you don't need the FNID you could always get an ID card from DVLA  ??? Could be wrong but I would feel weird not having one too (although I hardly ever get carded here only twice since living here)

I came over in May of 2007 - biometrics weren't required for a fiancee visa then.  I did my FLR(M) in-country later that year, and once again, ID cards//biometrics weren't required.  Since I didn't have an ID card when the time came to for ILR... wasn't required to magically cough one up.  Which is a blessing - I have been 150% unable to figure out how/where to get one; I DID try looking that up last November to no avail, and looking earlier this year too.

Yes, as Jupy said, you can always get your provisional driver's license (even if you never drive) to use as a government-issued ID.
