Mine is going into the post today!  I just haven't been able to get to the post office the past few days.  This afternoon is the day!

Yes, I need to get down to the post office myself today - but sadly, I don't yet have my Christmas cards ready for sending!  (And also waiting on DH to make the funny photo one for this year.)
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

I agree!!  And can an obsession with cookbooks really be unhealthy?  ;)

Well, when you make and eat everything it can be  ;)

I call that my experimental phase(s)!  I seem to have many of them when it comes to cooking.   :)

My snow boots finally arrived! They're more maroon than brown which makes them even more wonderful than I expected! Mind you they showed up Friday, the day the snow all melted...

Nice!

While I still don't have the official sign off confirmation for my MA, I got the feedback from my dissertation.  I definitely passed and after graduation will be an MA, plus they said my argument was lively and enthusiastic which I'm taking as positives and they said I engaged well with my secondary and primary sources!  Woohoo!  I'm an almost historian!  :)

I received a parcel from my Aunt containing Christmas dresses for the girls. They are so pretty and the girls will look lovely in them!

I'm sorry..if it makes you feel any better I NEVER get any..in all the 14yrs I have been here...I send them out to them every year..just cause I don't want to feel grinchy about it or stoop to their level..and this includes all my so called 'friends' as well....to be honest the only Christmas cards I ever get besides David's family are UKY ones!!! So thank you to all who sent them to us in the past and this year!  :-*

Thanks ladies...this year's just been really really difficult for me and the hardest part is that we had been planning on being back in the US by now...this is almost like the straw & the camels back, ya know.

DH brought home a few cards from his co workers that were for all of us...but his mother gave him a card specifically addressed to him and signed 'Barbara'...and she's flat out stated that she's not going to bother getting our 2 year old daughter anything for Christmas because we'll just have to ship it...so, yeah...this time of year just sucks..

Sorry I know this isn't the place for venting so please forgive me, I'm just sorta lost right now.

A glint of light in the darkness!  My postman managed to deliver one, single piece of post to me today.

That one, single piece of post happens to be the final bank statement that I need for my visa application.  I can breathe a little easier now!  :D
