Thanks ladies...this year's just been really really difficult for me and the hardest part is that we had been planning on being back in the US by now...this is almost like the straw & the camels back, ya know.

DH brought home a few cards from his co workers that were for all of us...but his mother gave him a card specifically addressed to him and signed 'Barbara'...and she's flat out stated that she's not going to bother getting our 2 year old daughter anything for Christmas because we'll just have to ship it...so, yeah...this time of year just sucks..

Sorry I know this isn't the place for venting so please forgive me, I'm just sorta lost right now.

*hugs*   :(

Merry Christmas Weby!  :D

Aquila, those Christmas kitties are sooooo cute!

WebyJ, what a seriously damaged woman your husband's mother must be.  If it didn't make you so sad, I'd probably pity her.  But I'll save my compassion for someone who deserves it more.  [smiley=hug.gif]

Thanks Aquila & Andee...

On a better note we did receive post today...it was DH's ticket to see MCR in February -- an anniversary gift that I got for him as our 3 year anniversary is on the 13th February & the concert is on the 19th. But alas he'll be going alone as we don't have anyone to watch DD so I have to stay home.

We got quite a few Xmas cards through the week, but none today.  A bit embarrassing though, because I still need to get mine out.  :-[

But today (well yesterday really, because I wasn't here then & we got a card put through the letter slot for us to collect it) - I got what I think is my UKY Secret Santa gift!  I collected it at the post office today.  :)

(Technically, this was yesterday's post.  We didn't get a single thing today, which was a surprise!  I hung around waiting for the post man just in case...Christmas packages, etc...but nothing.)

We also got the last of the Christmas presents we ordered for others - this last one a print of a photo of DH and me, that we are going to have framed for his parents.

A Christmas card and handwritten letter from my great Aunt and Uncle in Iowa.  It was really lovely and made me a little weepy.

Got the book I ordered for DH.
Got a text from my daughter saying they received the package we sent (on Dec 4).  We're still waiting for the package they sent to us.  Poor postman felt bad yesterday that all he had for us was a card.   :)

Ahh weby, don't feel too bad, I've not gotten any post in ages- I may get one here or there, and it's usually as exciting as you say- I think I've gotten a work's credit card statement and some junk mail not addressed to me in the past 2 weeks.

Normally I like to shop on amazon, but I am way too worried it won't get here in time, even though I am a prime member and in theory should get here next day.  So I will need to find five minutes to brave the town.  :-\\\\

I've never gotten food on my underpants!

I got the rest of my christmas stuff (including my Nativity) and a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch from a friend in the US :)  She didn't mail it by the cut-off for delivery before Christmas, either.
