You got your ipod back!!!  Wow, that is cool.

After days and days of crappy mail, I got a little ray of sunshine. (Not really!) My first She magazine came.  I'm trying it out for a year, see if I like it ;D

I know - it only took two and a half WEEKS to get here via courier (which must have been an armadillo).  :P

I got my Naturalisation Certificate back in today's post (my US passport came back to me yesterday).  Could my interview invitation (for British passport) be far behind?

Could be!  I got my invitation letter on Saturday and my documents on Monday.  Hopefully this'll all be sorted for you soon!  :)

I definitely hope so!  I still have a small window of time (approx 2 weeks) before I'm planning to travel - as long as nothing changes...  So if I could actually squeeze it in & get it sorted before I'm off, that would sure be nice.

Have you had your interview yet & if so what was it like?  And where?  The Durham office was handling my application.

Today's post included two job applications, DH's provisional driving license, and an offer for a Glamour magazine subscription.

Have you had your interview yet & if so what was it like?  And where?  The Durham office was handling my application.

I had my interview Monday morning (was SHOCKED that they could offer me a Monday appointment when I only called on Saturday!) in Newcastle city centre.  On the sheet they sent, it says the Yorkshire offices are in Kingston on Hull, Leeds, Sheffield, York, and Scarborough, so you'll be able to choose amongst those.

It took about 15 minutes -- I had to spell my name, give my birthdate, address, country of birth, parent's names and birth dates, date I became a UK citizen, give my last address, say how I applied for my passport, say how I knew my professional referee and what his job is, and list any credit agreements associated with my current address (they check your credit report for info as part of their background checks).

It was all very straightforward -- the only weird bit was when I was signing my name at the end.  The lady said something along the lines of, "Still getting used to the new surname, then?" and I was like, "Uh, no.  I've been married nearly five years, as evidenced by the marriage certificate I included with my application."  I think she was trying to trip me up!  ???

Oh good - I hope they can offer me a soon-ish appointment in Leeds when the time comes.  I'll make sure I commit all those bits to memory too - I often have to look up my parents' birth dates (they were born so long ago!) -- well just remembering dates in general.   Lol!  (I think it comes with getting old. :P)

Thanks Lola!

Lola - did you receive your British passport at the conclusion of the interview?  Or do they post that out to you afterwards?  Thanks for all your help & advice with this!  If I'm ever in The Toon I owe you a beer.  :-*

Got my UK passport in the post today!   :)  They said to allow 4 to 5 working days after the interview and to give them a call if I hadn't received the passport on the 10th working day.  Today was 3 working days since my interview, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the passport in my post today!  Won't be long for you now!

The bottle warmer/cooler I bought off eBay.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
