Not only that but water acts like a river to wash the slurry of your food away quicker..

Considering the chemical processes that are going on in your stomach during digestion, if water has any "washing out" effect, I'd be stunned.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

It certainly does........It helps your stomach produce further enzymes that absorb the essential good qualities out of your food...and helps expel the rubbish left over by...well...for want of a better phrase...giving you a better number 2! if you know what  mean ;) plus its other countless benefits....

Different things work for different people I suppose....I just think its a cheaper and more natural alternative for a appetite suppressant than buying the pink patch

When I spoke to a friend about Pink Patch at work she said how do you use it? do you stick it over both eyes so you can't find your food! lol...made me chuckle...

Hey if you find the patch works then rave about it......I will be first in line to be "patched up" everyone likes a quick result to weight loss....but I don't know if it really will perform the miracle it claims.

From someone who is always hungry and has to take Reductil to help lose weight, I can say from personal experience that your comment about water is nice in theory, but doesn't always work in practice.

The OP was asking about the pink patch - I think your comments about water belong in the thread your fiance posted about losing weight.  It might help him.

I am discussing the Pink Patch! Its a appetite suppressant and I was recommending a cheaper solution to buying patches....

And I have a friend who takes Reductil also...and still uses the water idea alongside it....who has now lost 2 stone in the last 3 months.....It was just a friendly tip...I did say different things work for different people......Look I am a big girl too and I find that faddy ideas don't work for me.....diet...exercise...and moderation of what your eating will help anyone.

Its charming how you make newcomers feel welcome  >:(

Nice touch ladies!

Use the patch........hope it works for you....might want to check with your doctor first if your on Reductil about using it at the same time...wouldn't want you to have a allergic reaction to anything making you sickly......some ingredients combined can play havoc with your body.

Pink Patch ladies...any news?

I'm not expecting a quick fix, just wanting to see if anyone's noticing a difference.

Well, it did seriously reduce my snacky appetite.

My biggest problem is "stealth snacking" whilst sitting at my desk at work.  I'm really good about not snacking at home, funny enough, with the entire cupboard at my disposal.  But at work, I just feel like I need to be constantly grazing.  And from the first patch, I really didn't need to.  I'm eating something in the morning, which I didn't used to do, and then not eating until lunchtime - where I find I'm not eating as much - and then not again until dinner.  Maybe a biscuit with tea when I get in from work, but no full-fledged snacking.

I didn't use them at the weekend (intentionally) or yesterday (unintentionally!), so I have one left.  I think I am going to splurge on 1 whole month and see how it continues.  I don't weigh myself, but there does seem to be slightly less ab fat pudging out under my bra...  ;D

It's also inspired me to really work on my world-famous bingo wings - because only real physical work will take care of those!  [smiley=smash.gif]

All in all, I'm pleasantly surprised.

And as for the "magical" properties of drinking your 8 glasses of water a day:

Thanks for that!  Might just bite the bullet and get me some.  My WORST problem is grazing (at home and work), so if this helps, even on just a psychological level, I'll be happy.

Need to shift SOMETHING before the wedding anyway :P.

...a quote from your own internet link.....

"A more accurate statement may be: Drinking water is a helpful tool for dieters."

Which was my original advice.  They are not denying that it helps you are they?

If you believe that fizzy pop is just as good for you as water...then thats your choice..But the chemical aspartame isn't my idea of healthy...but hey...thats just me.

I could sit here and post loads of links of bad reports on the items they suggest are OK such as fizzy drinks...but quite frankly..whats the point?

But once again...its down to personal choice...you decide how you want to loose weight..its your body. I know what works for me.  If the Pink Patch is working for you..then keep going....your choice...I think you should keep us updated of you weight loss..over the next months use....

I wonder what results are achieved from people who think they are on the Pink Patch but are on a Placebo Patch versus the genuine article?

If you can find those results on the internet from more than one source then maybe I would take more notice.

I don't think that's what the article meant. Just that water doesn't work magic and drinking 8 glasses a day isn't necessary. It isn't saying you should substitute chemical drinks for it! Just that the human body doesn't actually need 8 glasses of any fluid a day.  :)

Well, it did seriously reduce my snacky appetite.

Do you think it's psychological or is it really working? I'm genuinely curious. Sorry - I'm a born skeptic.  :-\\\\

I really don't recall mentioning fizzy drink.  Because I probably have 2 fizzy drinks a month...and I don't drink "diet" or "light" ones either, because I'd rather deal with real sugar.

Water can be a helpful tool for dieters, true.  So far, so is the Pink Patch (for me).

Personally, I don't care for water and it's very difficult for me to drink much of it at all.

Do you think it's psychological or is it really working? I'm genuinely curious. Sorry - I'm a born skeptic.  :-\\\\

Don't apologise!  I'm a card-carrying skeptic!  (Love conspiracy theories, too...)

I honestly think it's a bit of both - appetite suppressant and psychological.  I don't feel hungry between meals.  But it also makes me stop and think when I get bored, which is when I am more likely to snack.

I wouldn't drink 8 glasses a day. The idea of peeing all day long is not appealing!  :) but if drinking a glass of *something* whilst you eat fills you up quicker so you eat less..I am up for that any day...and from personal experience it works for me...and drinking more water has really dramatically reduced bad cellulite on the tops of my legs to a point where it has almost gone...now thats physical evidence for me..thats all the proof I need.

I am a skeptic too..I just modified my post above saying a similar thing.

You didn't mention fizzy pop but that web link you attached said water is no difference than that of fizzy drinks.

My doctor said that hydration is hydration and you get it from diet soda too. He said he doesn't tell that to lots of patients cause they don't want to hear such heresy, but you get a lot of your water from the meals you eat and following your body's lead on thirst is pretty decent guide to how much you need.

I don't know if I posted this in the thread or not, but water for dieting has been helpful for people who mistake their thirst and hunger signals, which happens often it turns out. So it's recommended you drink something before a meal to see if you were truly hungry.

And why are we discussing diet tips in this thread anyway? LuckyCuz, didn't you create one for that purpose already?

Peedal, is eating breakfast when you didn't before, do you think it's also cause of the patch? Like it helps sorta regulate your mealtimes?

The patch is worn for 24 hours.  I'm not eating as much for dinner, and so I found that I was hungry much sooner in the day.  So where I used to not eat anything in the morning at all (I know - bad bad bad habit), and then eat a sandwich at 11, then a full lunch at 12.30/1pm...now bring dry cereal or have cereal with yoghurt or mixed fruit right when I get into the office (about 9am).  It's still a bit early for me to eat before I leave the house (around 7) and I don't like eating on the train.

So, previously it was:  no breakfast; "meal-size" snack at 11 or so; lunch at 12.30/1pm; bag of crisps or chocolate bar at 3 or 4; (numerous!) biscuits with tea when getting home; dinner.

Now it's:  Breakfast around 9; lunch at 12.30/1 (eating less than previous); 1 or 2 biscuits with tea when I get in; dinner (again, eating less than previous).  I'm definitely eating less and not feeling hungry.
