My neighbours must think I am insane...am I the only one???
« on: February 15, 2008, 03:00:02 PM »
Okay, after reading the chicken wings thread I was thinking that I usually make Chicken Wings on my Gas BBQ, which I use year round, rain or shine, snow sleet or hale. I don't usually cook meat in my house. I am out there in my PJ's and umbrella grilling steaks or chicken whatever.

Please tell me I am not the only one who does this??? Okay, I might be. But I know that everytime I light that grill on a rainy, freezing cold night, my neighbours are shaking their heads and thinking...that crazee American!
 :)

Over here, yeah - you probably are that crazee American!  Back in the US, however, I knew people who would grill out in all weathers.  I don't think people here tend to do that.

One of the londoners I work with constantly complains that his CANADIAN neighbour keeps BBQ-ing steaks at all time throughout the year.  He said it wouldn't be so bad if 1. it didn't smell so good and 2. he was asked to share!

So no, you're not the only one, but I don't think it's the natives that are doing it!

I don't think people here tend to do that.

Maybe not, but some of them do venture out in the pouring rain and the cold at 5 a.m. to play golf or go fishing, which seems even more crazy!

We are loving our smokeless indoor grill.  When we don't feel like going outside to put our ribeyes on the grill, we whip that baby out.

I blazed up the BBQ nearly everyday when I lived in the US but here we just do it in the summer. Nothing wrong with all year BBQ UK though!  [smiley=chef.gif]

We can BBQ in all weather types, year round, at any temperature if they want to do the same when hanging out their laundry in the exact same kind of conditions!   ;D

We bbq year round as well, always have a chuckle about what the neighbors must think of the crazy Americans.
