Ben & Jerry's Peace of Cake ice cream
« on: February 17, 2008, 10:56:19 PM »
Has anyone seen this in pints at the grocery store??

I had a scoop the other day while at the movies and now I'm craving it!  Which is bizarre, because I hardly ever eat ice cream - I think this was the first I'd had since I living in Boston (oooh, JP Licks)....

I LOVE Peace of Cake!!!!!

I think it's the Graham Cracker that is swirled in it that does it for me!  A few years ago when I was feeling down Rich brought home a pint.  I ate the whole thing :-[  But it's so good!

They now have a Frozen Yogurt that is almost the same, just less fat.

I think I've seen it before...they certainly were serving it at the Ben & Jerry's festival last year, which means they DO sell it in the UK.

My favorite is Bohemian Raspberry, but we noticed the other day that B&J's have some new flavors out!

I want ice cream now...

No kidding!!  Hey, you guys should consider coming down to London in July when they have the B&J's festival.  I think the tickets were like £12-13 for a day of FREE, UNLIMITED Ben & Jerry's ice cream + live music (last year's headliners were The Proclaimers).  I think I remember dogs there, too, but I can't remember.  It was an awesome time and G & I felt so sick afterwards! :P

OMG, JP Licks!!! Drool....

Ditto!! JP Licks is fab!!! But my favourite of all time was the old original Steve's in Somerville back in the '70s and early '80s. Oooh, and I mustn't forget Belgian Fudge ice cream in Harvard Square! Aaaah... ice cream memories!  ;D

Where do you buy B&J's frozen yogurt?? I've only seen their ice cream at the shops near me.

Our Tesco has B&J's frozen yogurt in Choc fudge brownie and (I think) the Peace of cake.

I think they had Steve's till the late 80's because I vaguely remember going there once.  I also remember people talking about Steve's and were gutted that it was gone!!!  Do you know where it was?  I lived in Somerville for years.  (In the 90's)

There is no question that it's in the UK, I've had it for years here. :D  In the US it's called Strawberry Cheesecake.  The Yogurt here though is now called Strawberry Cheesecake.  Ohh, I just looked at the main Page that I attached below and they are calling Peace of Cake Ice Cream Strawberry Cheesecake now as well.  Strange.

Sainsbury's and Waitrose.  I know they have it at the Blockbuster stores as well. (At least in Guildford they do)  Hmm, some of the corner shops as well.  They also have it in Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Cherry Garcia, the bottoms of the tubs are blue.

My husband bought it for my by accident one time. I'm pretty sure it was the smaller Tesco on Clifford Bridge Road.

;)  If you can't find it there check tesco.com. I found that with 'little Tesco' they don't always carry the same stock.

It was in Davis Square! Steve Herrell started the ice cream place in Somerville in the early '70s (I think). He got too popular, though, and sold out in the late '70s. Then there were Steve's places all over and it wasn't the same. The original was the best. :(  I think he later started a small independent place under his last name later, but I'm not sure where that was. Herrell's may still be around, for all I know!

I think there was a Herrell's in Harvard Square, which was really good.  Was still there when I visited recently. (I think)
