Wow! Have fun! We have a very good Chilean friend in Santiago who we hope to see for a long trip in the next few years.

When he lived here in the UK I don't recall he used any special site to book flights through. I expect if he were here now, he'd use any of the ones that check for good deals (Kayak, Travel Jungle, etc).
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Hi Balmerhon

Thanks for that.. So far I found the cheapest to be £458 and that was through the forces travel deal site.   But until I have specific date it's going to be a bit difficult for me to figure out the costs etc.

I have been asking just about everyone I know whether they've been to Chile or not for some ideas and recommendations of places to see and things to do while there but I've yet to come across anyone that has been.  I'll probably pick up a book this weekend so I can start reading. I just always like to try and get first hand information.  I think at the moment one of the things I want to do most is travel into the Andes.

But basically I'm most excited about seeing my Dave again by the time I get there it'll have been 4 months since we last saw eachother and it'll be just over 2 months until he gets to come home after that!

Check out the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree website for first hand info. I usually find it helpful.

Definitely have a look at all the usual airlines and consolidators.

Enjoy your trip!
