There is a 12 person queue on 7 copies with Barnet libraries - I think in future it may be easier to pick a book which isn't on a Richard and Judy list  :\\\'(

So...unless someone can lend it to me within the next week, I may as well skip it.  PLEASE can someone lend this to me!  I can't justify paying £12 in Waterstones, and I am a VERY fast reader! If someone can post it to me, I'll give it back on the night and shout the lender a beer.

 ;D

Very kind of you, Courtney!   ;D

I've finished the book (it was brilliant, and a quick read because once I started, I couldn't put it down!) and will also offer to loan my copy of it to anyone who wants to read it but who is also put off by the cost (I can sympathise, I'm a very frugal gal myself).  I would prefer that anyone who wants to borrow it comes and collects it from me (West London area), as it's big and bulky to post, and I don't have frequent access to a Post Office.

I've been researching options for the next book club meet up and have found a few that were popular in 2006 and that are also widely available within the Hounslow Library system, so hopefully that will help for next time (I'm assuming they are also widely available full stop).

Mr. Moggs and I are likely going to have to miss this meeting.  We just found out today that my father-in-law is going to have to have his angioplasty that day.  Hopefully, we will be able to come to the next one.

Oh no, I hope the operation goes smoothly and that your FIL has a speedy recovery!  We will miss you on the 15th.  Let us know your preferences for the next book club meeting so they can be accounted for when deciding the next date/venue, etc.

So sorry you won't be able to join us.  You and Mr. Moggs will be missed.  Sending out healthful vibes for your FIL for a successful procedure and quick recovery!

Bumping this one up as the next meeting is is one week! :)

Sorry to hear a few of you can't make it. You will be missed, but great news on the job Kim, and good thoughts for your FIL Moggs.

Last minute folk are welcome. The more the merrier! :)

Courtney is right...Book Club is getting close!  I think we should take a "Roll Call" so we can get our numbers for the restaurant.   The meeting is 15 April at 7:00pm at Mestizo.  The book is  "A Thousand Splendid Suns."

Please let me know, either with a post or PM if you are planning on coming to the meeting.

Definitely planning to come. Is anyone bringing SOs? DH is interested in joining us for dinner, but he won't be participating in the discussion as he hasn't read the book. But he won't come if he'll be the only one sitting there not participating. Just wondering if anyone else was planning to bring SOs who are not going to participate in the discussion. If not, I'll be on my own. Looking forward to some good Mexican food and interesting conversation. I have lots to say about this book!

Only 266 pages to go - assuming I finish in time, I am there!
