Krispy Kreme in Heathrow. Question
« on: March 05, 2008, 01:07:15 PM »
Has anyone ever been to the Krispy Kreme in Heathrow aiport? Whereabout is it?

I am flying to NY in less than 2 weeks and my flight from Dublin stops at Heathrow first with about an 1 1/2 layover. I can only get it in Amtrak in Penn Station in NY and it's not that nice there. Will it be easy to find? Do they have a good selection? Are they ever warm?  ;)

Sorry. I think this is a highlight over most anything else when I go. lol

I've visited there last October... I was flying Virgin so that was.....terminal 3.

No, they werent warm - it was just a counter as I recall, not a shop you walked into. Still nice though if you're a fan. There's also one at Paddington Station if you're ever training it somewhere :)

There are KK shops all over NYC. Not sure where you're going in NY, but I know there are some upstate, too.
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.

I thought Krispy Kreme shut down? Or maybe it was only in Phoenix?

They did shut down. The only one left and I am completely positive as I looked and asked last year when I visited is the one in Penn Station at Amtrak. It was worth the hassle to get them but not the same

Cheers Peedal. I knew there was only one in NY. I don't even know how far upstate that other NY location is.

It's about 400 miles north of NYC, near Buffalo!   :)  If you'll visit Niagara Falls, you could stop off.  LOL.   ;D

I could, but not going to be anywhere near upstate. ;)

As for Target selling them, I didn't realise anyone still was. I never liked the store bought ones. Unless you microwaved them, they tasted horrible. Thanks for the tip. I will look out for them anyway. If I don't get my fix at Heathrow, I'll check Target

I bought Krispy Kreme at Heathrow in the spring. It's in terminal 3 right in front of the security screening area, before you go through.

I love them too! I'm so sad the ones up here have been closing. I guess people up north don't like glazed as much as southerners.  :(

I think its more likely that it can't compete with the crack Dunkin Donuts puts in its coffee :)
DD in the northeast is like starbucks on the west coast...
I was in the mall once and there was a starbucks downstairs and a DD upstairs- and the line for DD was like 20 people long, but there was NO ONE in the 'bucks...
My ex-boyfriend and I (living in Florida at the time)- just laughed, only in New England...

To be fair, I think DD coffee is cheaper than SB though I can't swear to that.

But I hadn't realized KK was almost out of NY now. That makes me sad. Really, DD donuts don't cut it in comparison. :(
