Last-minute flights to US
« on: March 06, 2008, 08:34:06 PM »
I'm needing to fly back to the US ASAP--probably this weekend. Anybody know a good site to check for last-minute deals? I know it's a long shot, but I thought it might be worth asking...

lastminute.co.uk?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Kayak checks the airlines as well as the consolidators like lastminute, cheaptickets, orbitz, etc....

My grandma passed away yesterday. :( She's been doing poorly for quite a while, so it's not unexpected, but still a bit sudden. I'm heading back for the funeral and to spend some time with my family. Just glad that I'm able to go!

Sorry for your loss :(

When my Grandma died I had little time to get a flight as well. I actually looked on virgin and I clicked on that my days are flexible  and was able to get a return flight for about £230

bereavement fares.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Really sorry to hear that, Elynor - my condolences. :\\\'(

I hope you were able to find something not too pricey to get you back there.  Bereavement fares, as someone recently pointed out to me, are often just a slight discount off the regular full fare price - which hardly anyone ever pays anyway.  It's worth checking out, but you will probably be better off on a last minute fare from the websites that people have already mentioned. :-\\\\

I'm very sorry.  I had a similar experience when my grandmother passed away.  Hope you have/had a safe journey.
