Yeah, but that would be included in entertainment, misc, etc catagory. My budget would be more detailed and reasonable if I can get advice on the leftover money. I thought you HAVE to have about 370 £ leftover after paying all the bills?  I need HELP with this subject as I'm confuzled.

Where did you get that figure?

Moonfaery, take note of the questions people are asking you on this thread because these are the same questions that'll be in the mind of the ECO when they review your application. Because you have so many things seemingly included with your rent, you'll probably need to write a detailed explanation for them. And also figure out how that doesn't constitute third party support since it seems like you're getting an awful lot for your rent.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

I think she might be getting that £370 figure from a post on here from a few months ago where Victoria said that you need to have £97 per week left over after paying your bills (can't remember the exact £ amount).

I'm pretty sure the amounts that are floating around come from the amount of income support benefit that a couple can receive (which is £92.80/week according to the Jobcentre website) and I know that either Vicky or garry has said that it's a good guideline to make sure you have at least that much left over in the budget (I think after after rent and bills?  I'm not sure though, but you can find it if you go through old posts.)

Bingo, springhaze.

And it's not just a guideline, it is what the ECO's and judges use.

But that is not the amount that needs to be left after all expenses, it is what needs to be left for miscellaneous expenses after rent, loan repayments, bills.

Is this for a couple or for each individual, I remembered reading something a while back about this but could not recall were from.

What about if you have children would the figure be higher?

Or is it just based on the couple?

I hope we get better weather with the new year I am getting rained out.

Good luck to everyone with respective visa applications.

See, that's what's kind of freaking me out. Having exactly 372£ after all the bills is still kind of pushing it isn't it?

Monthly Payment: 912

Private Loans:  290

Phone Bill: 50

Rent and utilities: 200£

Entertainment, misc, food, tranportation: £372

£372 is not enough.  I don't know where you are getting this figure from.

Vicky

I think she's just multiplying the income support number times 4 weeks- £93 x 4 = £372.

Aren't there approx 4.3 weeks in a month?  Not that that would change the figure much, it'd be right at £400, but that could make all the difference I suppose.

It will make the difference between approval and refusal.

The formula you need is £92.80 x 52 / 12 = £402.13

It's actually quite a difference as well, an extra £30.13/month.

Moon, are you able to rework your budget?

Well, Then I guess I'm going to have to change my budget.

Monthly Payment: 912

Private Loans:  290

Phone Bill: 50

Rent and utilities:150£

Entertainment, misc: 422£

Might not be much for rent and utilities but It's all we can do right now. If I get refused because rent is not enough, then it's plain stupid. I would add more but can't because I need a certain amount leftover for god knows what considering we are not the spending type. GR!

I got the 372 figure because I thought it was 92 times 4. That's what I read on the other thread.
