Finally remembered to get one (At Smith's) and now I really really really want canned brown bread slathered in butter!

...had a skim-through last night. Nothing jumped out and grabbed me on the North American front but some of the Caribbean and South American stuff sounded pretty interesting...

Snap.  Well I salivated over the Mexican stuff too, so that's North American. :)

I bought it at WH Smith's today.

We made the cheese steaks the other night (yum!) and the mexican bean melts tonight. :D  I'm itching to make the boston baked beans and DH really wants to try the mini apple pies!

The duck empanadas were EXCELLENT. But it made a lot of filling and I don't see how they got 8 out of one pack of pastry dough. I made 4 big ones using a desert/salad sized plate and had filling left even though I didn't skimp in filling them. They really were super, super yummy.

Do you think they'd work with chicken?  Dark meat (thighs)?  They look absolutely gorgeous but neither DH nor I eats duck.

Definitely!! There's nothing in them that I would think would compliment duck in particular and I think chicken thighs would definitely work - but I'd definitely stick with dark meat only. Otherwise they might be a little bit bland.

That's what I'm thinking - dark meat is much closer to duck meat than chicken or turkey breast.  I might have to try these next week! :)

I really struggled to find it. But it's worth persevering. I think I ended up finding it at Tesco (which really pissed me off because I try to NEVER go to Tesco, but I was desperate for distilled vinegar and Sainsburys was out of it  >:( ).

Mine was at Somerfield, but I think Asda sells it as well.
