you beat me to it.. I was so thinking I should post something.

My sister and I watched the Friday Night Project and we were, literally, squeeing with extreme delight when they announced that Who was going to be back next weekend!

I'm cancelling all my Saturday night plans for the next month or two - that's not even a joke.

AND (highlight for it if you want it) ROSE IS GONNA BE BACK!!!!!
(I still miss Chris Eccleston's Ninth Doctor, he was kind of "my Doctor" you know, but oh oh David Tennant, that man is incredible. One might say.. fantastic!

PLEASE no spoilers without warning!  I didn't know that about Billy, and I have been hiding from all news reports and trailers so everything is a surprise, and now I know  :\\\'(

aww I'm sorry Vicky! I changed it so it's white, tho damage is done  :-X - I thought it was common knowledge at this point cos of all the coverage.

Also Sarah Jane Adventures is starting on sci-fi channel here in the States, I just found out. I haven't watched cos I haven't found a place to download it - but I definitely will when it airs. (along with Battlestar Galactica, I'm just not leaving the house on Friday nights).

I'm RIDICULOUSLY excited about S4 - largely because of That Spoiler - but I would agree - can we amend the subject line to include a spoiler warning?  I normally avoid spoilers at all costs, except for when the media decides to place something inevitable to avoid in my path (I still hold a grudge against the Guardian for spoiling me for the end of HP5), and even though I do know quite a few details about the end of S4 already (thanks, BBC) I know there are folks out there who really, really don't want to know.

Plus I want to squee with y'all but don't want to spoil anyone!!  ;D

Can we have a sperate spoiler thread, so that I can still come on the "I'm so excited" thread???  :)

I'm SOOO excited!   8)  I'm going to a big launch party again, as I did last year, with the London DWAS.  Last year Nick Courtney (The Brigadier from the Baker episodes) was there, and this year we might get Liz Sladen along!

May I ask..

Are the new generation Doctor Who episodes shown in the USA? (that is, from Chris Eccleston onwards?)

My Gf didnt know what a Dalek was, but she doesnt watch TV.  (so she says!)

I realise US audiences are generally VERY reluctant to watch anything thats not American, so my instinct says no....

Yes, they are...generally later than in the UK, on the Sci Fi channel I think.

I just looked it up and it seems they edit the shows by up to 10 mins in the US to cram in more ads. Gobsmacked.

They are - they're on Sci-Fi as well as BBC America.  Of course, the latter is an opt-in channel so those who opt-in are probably more interested in British television than the average American, but there is still a HUGE following for new Who in the US - largely due to all the classic Who eps that were shown on PBS during the '80s.

Thanks for the info..

BBC America (BBCA)  is not owned by the Beeb and I did actually complain to Wood Lane because it wrecks the good reputation of Auntie with it's Innane programming over there. They were kind enough to write back but didnt listen to a word I said, explaining to me that it was nothing to do with them and I would have to take up any complaint with BBCA . Doh.
