 we have 103 left over on our budget which is just barley over the 92.80...my husband is vegan and we cook at home and eat leftovers!its always been that way,but it is very scary to compare what we know we can live off and what they think we need!!!

just seen this....I live in a 2 bed terrace in Barnsley! The rent sounds right from what I've seen in the paper, though I'm not renting.

Utilities - I pay monthly direct debit of £20 for electric and £35 for gas (heating and cooking). Council tax is £56 a month, but that includes the single person discount.

Just seen this as well....I'm more curious about your fiance from the US (or wife by now, looks like you were getting married right about now).  Where's she from? What does she think of Barnsley? I'm just being nosy!   I'm from the US and my huband is from Barnsley. However I dragged him out of Barnsley and into the Minnesota. I've spent a lot of time in Barnsley though so I am very familiar with the place.
