If I do a 365 at some point - and not saying I will - it's going to be a thing for me, not according to any particular set of rules.  That said, I don't want to steal my hubby's thunder & use his pics as a matter of course - because they're his pics. :)

(But I'm horrible with a camera, so it may never happen anyway. :P)
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

For me, this blog is a really important record of my family's life but I'm getting some comments from the people who I really want to read/see it (my family in the US) that they want to see me, too.

Yes.

And, for me, this blog has taken on a life of its own. I started it simply because I needed a project for myself and liked the idea of this one. But now it's become something that many of my friends and family around the world are looking at to feel connected.

So it is not just about the group of people here on UK-Y, but also about people that I know and love who don't care about the rules. They just want to see pictures of me and my family.  ;D

I finally caught up on mine today and hopefully will stay caught up. At first, I had no problem posting each day but then life got a bit crazy and even though I was taking the pics, I was only uploading them every few days. Then it got to be once a week. :-\\\\ Much too overwhelming. So I'm trying to get back to uploading my pic each day.

I'm not really bothered about other people cheating.  After all, it's their blog.  But for me the part that I really enjoy is the whole challenge of it.  I really like the difficulty of finding that one perfect picture that represents my day or captures something.  The hardest part has been chosing only one picture.  There have been a couple of days that I've had a few really good ones or had more than one major event going on.  But I think that's why I enjoy it so much.  I don't just see it as posting pretty pictures but more as a project.  But that's just me and how I look at things.
It is something that I've REALLY enjoyed doing and find myself thinking about all the time.

No more cheating, people!  ;)   :)

i think my comment above has maybe been taken too seriously... i've used smilies, guys, and i meant them!
It was just meant as a playful, finger-wagging mock-reprimand!

Yeah, i do like rules and i like people to stick to rules in general, but...ffs... it's just a game, isn't it?  It's just for fun!  So please don't take my comment above seriously, as it wasn't meant that way.   I really, truly, genuinely, honestly am not bothered what you do with your 365!

I honestly think that your comment just sparked some debate and unearthed, perhaps (?!) a bit of guilt about not sticking to the rules per se! I don't think there are any hard feelings at all, hon! ;D
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I'm the same way!  ;D

How do you get over taking random pictures in public?

I had my camera out on Monday and people were looking at me like I was a tourist!  Didn't get any good shots, but I plan on going out again tomorrow at lunch.

It's hard. You feel like an idiot. But, you get over it and you'll start seeing other people taking pictures of random things (like the sign for the mall) and you wonder, hey, I wonder if they have a 365 project too!

I don't take all that many photos in public places, but when I do it's OK. It was weird at first, but I'm not really bothered by it anymore. If it's somewhere with only a couple of people and if they look interested/curious, I might even explain (very briefly) what I'm doing. Otherwise, I usually just snap away and let them wonder.  :)

I take a lot of photos at work and if I see someone looking I usually explain.  They usually think it's cool.  If I'm out in public I don't really worry about it.

I am always uncomfortable about taking pictures of people that I don't know. I would be very unhappy if some random crazy took a picture of me! My husband, however, will point a camera in any stranger's face ...

But I always take my camera out with me wherever we go. Most parents I know do that too, to photograph their kids like I do.

Hey folks, sorry it's been soooo long in updating mine.  I'm on holiday and the computer here is frighteningly slow.  I will upload if I can, but may have to wait until this weekend when I return.  I'm dreading organinzing the whole thing!
