Found: Wendy's Hamburgers!!!
« on: April 27, 2004, 11:05:39 AM »
My husband went to Heathrow last night to pick up my best friend who is here for a 2 week visit (whee!). He said that at Terminal 3 he spied with his little eye a Wendy's Restaurant! He said it was shut (it was 10:30 pm), but it looked like it was up and running normally during the day along with everything else!

I'm *so* glad I didn't know about that while I was pregnant, I'd have had some seriously demanding requests from dear husband!

And sorry if this is well-known information, but I had no idea!
Wendy's RULES!!!

I just hope for England's sake it's not like KFC... good in America but completely bastardized here! Hash browns on a sandwich... for crying out loud...
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

Tragically, if you ask for a Frosty at the Heathrow Wendy's, you will come away disappointed, as they don't do 'em!
Darn tasty burgers, tho.

Honey, I had no idea you didn't know about this.  This was the one bright spot in that "being sent back to the US" debacle the boys and I had to suffer back in 2002 - we left and returned through Heathrow and therefore got to enjoy Wendy's.

But I have to agree with Mr Nibbles in that a Wendy's without a Frosty in which to dip your chips is just wrong... :o

The menu is somewhat limited, the prices exhorbitant, but they do great square single classics.  :)

Damn, I was just at Heathrow yesterday and didn't know about it!  Oh well.  Chalk one up for the diet.   ::)

Peedal,  I do that too!  Seems like I'm the only one when I'm at Wendy's.  Do you mix m&ms into your popcorn or stuff a tuna sandwich with crisps?  Chris

Yes, and yes.  I dip my fries in frosties, put the m&ms in popcorn and Chex Mix (oh Goldfish crackers are excellent mixed with Chex Mix) and although I don't really eat tuna sandwiches, I have been known to put fries on my cheeseburger.  Yes, I know I'm weird. :P

I don't think the Wendy's has the spicy chicken sandwich - but the Zinger at KFC and the spicy chicken sandwiches as High Street places like Dixy Chicken (spelling is NOT my error!) and the like are pretty good substitutes.

I used to mix M&M's w/popcorn and peanuts and raisins!  And crips have made their way onto quite a few different sarnies in my time...I like fried onions or "Funions" on tuna especially.  ;)

I'm a HGUE fan of the M&M's in poopcorn! Especially when the popcorn is warm so the M&M's are nice and crispy on the outside but ever-so-slightly gooey in the inside... god I'm hungry now...
and I am glad to know I'm not the only one who was in the dark about Wendys! But no frostys? Sigh... what's the point?  :-\\\\

We had a Wendy's here in Doncaster about 7 years ago.  It lasted about a year and then shut down.

Marlespo I hear ya about the prego thing - when I was pregnant with my daughter I was having a Wendy's salad and a frosty nearly every day!  But then they shut which on the whole was better for the overall size of my a** but made me very sad.   :\\\'(
I'm sorry.  I'm just not cool.

Pedal, You are a true gourmet!  I'll try the Funions on my next tuna sandwich.  Oooooh, the things I'm learning on this site!
