Substitute for Girl Scout Thin Mints....

ASDA Puffin chocolate biscuits...mint variety

They taste JUST LIKE thin mints...or at least that's what I heard...I certainly haven't been eating them! 

(brushes chocolate biscuit crumbs off keyboard)   ;)

I have eaten my one and only box......this is great to know because I talked about a mint ice cream pie that uses thin mints for the crust....I told my DIL and she liked the idea.....we were thinking of doing it for an upcoming buffet! Ya just saved us!

I love those mint puffins.  I always look for those when I'm offered a variety of puffins.  Ah minty things, so so yummy. ;D

Don't know if they have them there.. but the Keebler Mint Grasshoppers are very very similar as well (I think that's what they're called..) 

We get those in a pinch when it's not Girl Scout Cookie season ;)

Yep that's what they're called...I LOVE Grasshopper cookies. :P YUM!!!

Mmm, thin mints from the freezer crushed into vanilla ice cream in summer.  Scrummy!

Thanks for the tip about the puffin mints - Dh is headed to ASDA tonight; he can pick a box up . . . or two . . . or three  :D

I've lost all my contacts from a year or so ago, but if you are truly jonesing for GS cookies, then log onto http://www.girlscouts.org/who_we_are/overseas/committees/europe.asp . Most loosely knit troops will be served by the areas listed, so most areas are covered. I got a response from 3 leaders of troops either in the London area or in the Surrey area (mainly because that's where the American schools are and the largest concentration of Americans). They were more than willing to help- the sooner, the better! Remember, they do order ahead of time and make allowances for extras, but they still are somewhat limited! [former cookie mom/leader/scout here..lol]  I'm trying to stay away from them this year!
