[Liz, Dr. Phil (McGraw) is a well-known U.S. pop psychologist who got his start in the public eye advising Oprah Winfrey about how to present herself when the Texas cattle association sued her for making negative comments about diseased beef about seven or eight years ago. His expertise was in assessing juror personalities, etc., and he helped her not to break down from the stress of it all. After that, he was a regular guest on her show (he has a no-nonsense approach to personal and relationship problems--he's sometimes a bit too folksy), and now has his own show on another network.
