See this film!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808417/

I haven't seen Ratatouille so I can only wonder why the Animated Feature Film Oscar went to it instead of Persepolis.

I read about this in the Guardian supplement a few weeks ago and have just seen that it is out in my lovely local independent cinema.  It sounds fantastic!  Have you seen it?  Is it as good as it sounds?

As for your Oscar question....big budget Hollywood Disney/Pixar movie v independent controversial small budget movie based on graphic novel by Iranian woman....I wonder why Ratatouille got the Oscar!  ::)

The books are amazing.  I can't wait to see it.

I didn't really like Ratatouille.

I'm not really a fan of graphic novels or animation but Marjane Satrapi is from the same town in Iran as my dad, so I might have to see it for that reason alone!

I saw it on Sunday during a member's preview at the Picturehouse Theatre in Greenwich. Apparently I was in a very sentimental mood because it had me in tears in at least three different parts. I am a sucker for coming of age films and relationships between family members.

Perhaps the sarcasm didn't come out in my comment?  ;)

While it was animated and in black and white for the most of it, it didn't really feel that way. The scenes were so clever in how they transitioned from one to the next.

I thought I would really enjoy Ratatouille but Dh nor I liked it at all which is a shame because we both enjoy Disney animation films. I think the Toy Story's 1 & 2 are my all time favorite Disney animation films I'm sure there are several more Disney animation films that are my fav as well I just cant think of them right now.
