This probably won't help you but we got married alone in Las Vegas and when we got back to the UK we had our wedding reception.  For the UK reception I had the dress, cake, everything..  I wanted to bring a little bit of the Vegas part into the UK reception because no one came with us to Vegas but I didn't want to go overboard.  So I found this AWESOME place that makes poker personalized poker chips:

http://matrimonychips.com/

On one side they had the Vegas date and on the other it had the date of the UK reception with our names and stuff.  They were so awesome.  We put 2 in front of each guests place setting for them to take home.  The only thing that would have made them better (IMO) is if they were magnets!  Then people could put them on the fridges and remember the date forever.  But that's just me:-)

Another idea:
My best friend's husband plays the guitar in a band and they are huge music buffs so they had guitar picks made that said their names and the wedding date.  They sprinkled them all over the tables at the reception.

Oh and my cousin married a dentist so they had personalized toothbrushes made for their wedding favours!

We didnt have wedding favors because it was a very small wedding and we preferred to spend the money on a nice meal and extra wine/champagne.

BUT my uncle makes his own wine as a hobby so at my cousins wedding he made all the wine himself (red & white) and for the favors he put small bottles of homemade wine on all the tables... 1 per couple.... and for the labels he printed their names, wedding date and did a watermark picture of them.  It was really nice and many people saved that bottle of wine til my cousins 1 year wedding anniversary and drank it then.

Ooo..I love Lemonchello......especially after putting it in the freezer so its ice cold!..brilliant stuff..... :D

I think you can buy it in Tesco now.

Unfortunatly we can not take any booze to the reception....its their company policy...

But they are making jugs of Margaritas for the tables.. ;D

We had 30 people, including us.  My oldest son made small origami "baskets", which we filled with candied almonds wrapped in netting and secured with wire flowers.

We also had decorated the tables with tea light lanterns.  We had 15 of them.  Each couple/family who came was able to take one home with them.

We have one as well, on our display cabinet right above our "wedding shelf".

I would like to attend a wedding where 'adult favours' are given out! ;) :P 8)

LOL I didn't mean like that!  I meant that the kids got coloring packs and paper crowns to decorate.

Can't go wrong with edible/drinkable favors I'd say.  Well except jordan almonds (but that's my own personal opinion - can't stand the things!).

We did personalised magnets with our names, the date of the wedding and Tatty Bears on them (they fit along with our colour scheme & theme).   ;D

My cousin gave votive candles (partylite, really nicely made) and I thought that was a great idea.  Most people burn candles and they smelled lovely.

i bought as many vintage cup & saucer sets as i could find on ebay. filled each with a tealight, teabag & chocolate & wrapped them in tulle. they were great because each one was different.

We didn't really do favors, but we did put the place cards with everyone's table assignments in a picture frame.  Most people told me later on that they used it to put a photo in.

Taking note of that for possible future idea-theft!  ;D
