Trivia:  Back in 1959 the BBC banned the original American version of the song by Johnny Horton, because of the line "And we caught the bloody British." 

They played the British cover version by Lonnie Donegan though, because when he recorded it here he changed the line to "And we caught the blooming British."

Anyhow.....    :)
