I met Gok Wan this morning!

He was standing outside Capital Radio by Leicester Square when I saw him from the bus.  I got off and walked up to him and asked him for his autograph.  He was very nice (shorter than he appears on telly, but not surprised by that).

I did manage to not seem too much like a star-struck freak - just told him that I thought what he did for women and how he made them feel better about themselves was really great.

And, please, no posts in this thread about anything horrible anyone's "heard" or read about him.  I want to keep my fantasy that he really is a lovely man who loves to make women feel good about themselves.  There's enough tearing down of each other in the world.  If you don't have something nice to say about him, say nothing at all, please.  Thanks.   :-*

That's really cool!! But ... he already looks tiny to me on television!! I can't imagine how much smaller he must be in real life!!  :o ;D

How exciting!!!!! What did he write his autograph on? 

I dont know if I would have the guts to walk up to a celebrity and ask for their autograph, especially since i dont recognize celebrities when they're standing right in front of me let alone from a BUS (I served Mike Myers coffee and didnt know it was him til my boss told me AFTER he left)  ::) ....

I've watched that show over here except it's the American Version (How to look good naked) it's a good show. (He looks deceivingly tall in all those photos on google images!)

I love him....I think he is a fab man! His encouragement for women is fantastic! I think he does a much better job than Trinny & Susannah...

He signed a page inside my 2008 diary/planner, using my CAMRA pen.

Really, I almost chickened out.  He was all by himself and when I first saw him he was on the phone.  I just barely managed to get off the bus before the doors closed on me.

I walked slowly, so he was off the phone by the time I got to him.  I felt so rude, but really - he's GOK!!  I would have never forgiven myself if I hadn't at least tried to approach him!

No horrible stories here! I think I posted once about how I saw Gok and his crew at the train station in York, last September when I was up there for the weekend with my Mom.

He was also waiting for the train back to London, and he seemed so happy and nice, even though they were clearly coming from a long day of shooting. I didn't go up to him, but now I wish I did!

I know he is scheduled to be on The Friday Night Project---did I miss that episode? Anyone know when it is?

Yeah, I think I'd have a better chance of making him my best friend then trying to make him "the other man"!!!! :D
