ILR LIST OF PAPER WORK

We hope this will help others and give them some where to start with the paper work for their ILR.

List of Documents for
ILR Visa set (m) 28th April 2008, Divorce papers and death certi (they asked for these) pass ports and pics for each of us, they asked for either wage slips or bank statements for self employment and/or tax returns to show wages and NI Contributions, they like a good filling system so they can just flick through and take their pick of paper work.

They took evidence from the first month we arrived back September 06/ Jan 07 so and so on up to this month they wanted a different piece for each of the months they asked for for 06/07 i.e. bank statement, gas bill, water rates, ct bill 07 bank statement, electric bill, water rates, ect this is just an idea of what they asked for, they did take a catologue letter for Chris and that was fine.


 

Great list, but I do think it should be pointed out that you did provide more documentation than they ask for.

This is true but the lady we had was really pleased with the amount we had she said it helped her pick what she wanted and she had more choice.

I think if its a few pieces over for each month it doesn't hurt your case, and of course it helps make sure they do not have the same pieces when trying to pick.

This list may help when you get to the stage we did everything looks the same.

The balance each month after paying bills leaves us with £xxx month, each week we have £xxx a week left, plus savings £xxx month extra for misc.

Loans nearly paid so minus Loans out goings will drop to        =  £xxxx

This is for my ILR, they did not ask for it nor see it but it was good to have and at least had they asked we could have handed it straight over.

We put a letter in with the application form stating savings and child maintance and mentioned the house and the size, this she did read, we placed it in with the finance page of the application form.

Oh if anyone goes to the Birmingham PEO the chairs are chained to the floor which was a bit of a problem for me.

That's quite reassuring, I put in a lot of documentation so it's good to know they don't get annoyed by more than they ask for.

We may have been lucky as the lady was really nice, but she did say that it helped them, and it being in month and year order was great in a soft folder with clear sleeves, Sonya turned the pages and she just said yes that one or those will be good, they take them and photo copy them.

Anyone on tax credits she just asked if Sonya had them and that was that no other mention of it.

I REALLY must stress that if anyone is reading this and thinks "oh my God, I haven't got that much detail or documentation" then don't worry - an application can be successful with significantly less than this!

Can you use the same mail in joint names over the two years as long as it is from 5 different sources (example: bank statements, gas bills, electric bills, water bills, and council tax)?  I understand that limits you to 20 documents so I was going to divide it up into six month increments.

Please look at the stickied ILR post for guidance.  I really don't think that this post should turn into a discussion on what to use!

But yes, you can do this.  It is, in fact, the best way of doing it, as then you don't end up with huge amounts of documentation.

When I did my FLR in person in Solihull, the woman who dealt with me also said to basically bring as much stuff as I wanted to and they would pick and choose!  However, I'm not collecting that much stuff.

Thanks for the reminder about the sticky, Vicky...but, you posted something on someone else's thread a few months ago that I've lost track of.  After I describe it, if you know what I'm talking about, would you mind re-posting it in the sticky?  I thought it was a brilliant idea, but, as I said, I then lost track of it!

I believe it was in regard to a post by someone who didn't have 'enough' joint documents, or 'enough' individually addressed documents, but combining them would make it 'enough'...you gave an example of how you would combine them...My DH and I have each kept most of our stuff separate, but we do have a few things that are joint, so this idea of combining documents would work really well for us.

We saved for almost 2 years and we put everything by it was good for us but may not be for everyone the list gives you what WE used but it also might be useful to know what that what we took was good to use as eveidence.

It got us my ILR, and I think we did well with what we had, not everyone will want to do this but it made us feel that we had enough paper work and for us it was useful and the lady apprieciated it.

Take what you have, there were plenty of people who had hardly any paperwork, and we could hear exactly what they were being told.
