new passport but what about the visa
« on: May 01, 2008, 10:16:27 AM »
I just got my name changed on my passport and so they issued me a new one, however, my residence permit is still in my old name and isn't transferred in anyway in the new passport.  Do I have to carry around two passports when I fly or get jobs, or do I have to get my name changed on the visa too?
I reject your reality and insert my own.

yep, just carry both passports with you when you need to travel...that's not a problem.  Same for when you need to show your visa to an employer, along with the documentation of the name change (ie marriage certificate, deed poll etc)
Now a triple citizen!

Student visa 9/06-->Int'l Grad Scheme 1/08-->FLR(M) 7/08-->ILR 6/10-->British citizenship 12/12
