Can Oreos crack the patriotic British biscuit market?

Quite an interesting article regarding Oreos and their attempt to break the UK. The comments at the end are also highly amusing  :D

I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

They're certainly trying hard. I've seen two billboards in my town advertising them. I saw someone discussing them on another forum and they werent that popular and called a poor man's bourbon! I find that bizarre (then again I hate bourbons). Im just glad to have access to them!

Who cares if they don't like them?  More for us!  :)

Now if we could just get Triscuits over here, we'd be in business!  My FIL (English) is crazy about them, did his whole career in the grocery business here, and thinks Triscuits would really be popular here if they ever make it over.

We have a tub of mini oreos from Woolworths in the office that we all munch on during our coffee breaks.they are popular amongst the girls here...We are all Brits ;)

They haved to be dunked in sweet coffee for me otherwise I find them a little bitter..but I do like them...

(come to think of it...there isn't much I don't like...hence the size of my waist and butt  :()

My hubby said they were like bourbons and that bourbons reminded him of grannies.

I second the trisquits. I miss them -- melba toast just doesn't cut it.  :\\\'(

I don't! You know me! Kind of.

I just don't understand what Oreos are supposed to taste of. If it's chocolate, they don't taste at all chocolatey to me. And the filling has no flavour except for overt sugaryness.

I don't care much for the creme filling but love the cookie part. Now if I could just buy a bag of Oreos, minus the creme filling...mmm. :P
