The subject, "biscuits".
When I was young (10) I had just got off the boat in NY and I was asked by my host what kind of food I liked. I said, 'biscuits', so the next meal I got dinner rolls which is what biscuits are called in the US.
I like bourbons and lemon puffs the best.
In the US they had lemon coolers that we liked but I can't find them anymore so I think they don't make them any longer. I think they were made by Keebler?

Who makes the best ones?
It was the Lemon Cooler that we don't see anymore.

Ummmm, it was a French company maybe, or Dutch?  Two letters,  ahhhhhh.  I can't remember, but I will see if I can find them tonight.

My DH LOVES oreos - he buys them whenever he sees them.  And I'm a fan too!

I absolutely love Oreo cookies especially the Double Stuff ones oh so heavenly  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  Dh doesn't like them so they are all mine.  ;D  One time his friends came over to our house while I was eating my Oreos & dunking them in milk they started laughing at me when they saw me eat the cream center then dunking my cookie shell in my milk. Dh said he was used to me doing that but they thought it was really weird but amusing to them.

Just curious: do the UK ones have the same exact ingredients that the US ones have?

The article says yes, it'll be the same recipe as the US ones.

I don't know if anyone else has tried this yet, but I've just had the opportunity to do a side-by-side comparison, and as far as I can tell there is certainly a perceptible difference.

As far as my subjective analysis goes, the British version of the Oreo has a cookie/biscuit part which is a little coarser in texture than the American, and certainly much more of a hint of the "Bourbon" flavor which was mentioned earlier in this thread.  Also, the cream filling on the British version doesn't seem to be quite so sweet to me as the original.

Of course, it's always important to verify one's initial analysis, so I had to force myself to eat another two Oreos to be sure!  (Purely for verification in the interests of science, you understand. ;) ).

I don't think they do.  I think the US are actually vegan and the UK ones aren't but I'm not 100% about that.

Well I see a bunch of kids going to school each morning shoving them into their faces.  So I guess it worked with that market, not sure about the rest of it all.

For what it's worth, here's a comparison of the listed ingredients and nutritional information.  Any food experts care to comment about the differences and the various additives?

Yup, pretty much.  My egg and dairy allergic son can eat them, which grosses me out to no end!

I dont know about you, but I haven't found a biscuit here i like. They all taste really bland. Maybe I just haven't had enough variety?

What have you tried? Unfortunately for my waistline, I haven't had a biscuit here I don't like.
