What have you tried? Unfortunately for my waistline, I haven't had a biscuit here I don't like.

Tee hee. When I first moved to the UK, I didn't like very many British biscuits... but after 8 years there, I grew to like quite a lot of them... now, back in the US, I don't like most US cookies!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

For what it's worth, here's a comparison of the listed ingredients and nutritional information.  Any food experts care to comment about the differences and the various additives?

Well one key difference is all the corn based stuff they put in the US version.

Corn sweeteners have a sickly sweet, cloying quality about them, I much prefer the sugar cane and fructose based sweeteners in the UK (e.g. and IMO, Cokes taste better in the UK because of that)

Not to mention that high-fructose corn syrup is the unhealthiest of all sweeteners!  It has been linked to America's troubles with obesity because it is highly caloric, but doesn't make you feel full, so you can consume a lot more of it than you would something made with sugar.  Other than that, though, the ingredients look pretty much the same.

BTW, I completely agree with you about the Coke.  British coke is like Mexican coke, which I used to go out of my way to get at Mexican grocery stores when I lived in California.

I don't think Oreos can. They're not bland enough.

It hasn't been proven in any double blind scientific studies.  At the same time as corn syrup came in as a sweetener, low fat and skim milk became marketed on a nationwide basis and became the "healthy" option.  Perhaps the obesity epidemic should be linked to that?

Or the fact that people now consume a great deal more calories and move a great deal less.

I've tried digestives in every shape and form inclding chocolate covered and gingernut. I've also tried  a few I don't know the name of. They all taste bland and dry to me. In the US the only cookie I ate (that were bought) were Mothers Animal Cookies, Elf fudge and oreos

I found some Polish cookies at Tesco that I really like.

One is a large, softer version of vanilla wafers (much larger and somewhat softer, unless you accidentally leave the bag open overnight)  and the other was very very close to the Girl Scout Samoa/Caramel Delight cookies without the hole in the middle.

I dont know about you, but I haven't found a biscuit here i like. They all taste really bland. Maybe I just haven't had enough variety?

Not Hob Nobs surely - even better, chocolate coated Hob Nobs!  :P

Well, maybe we just have different taste because I never ate any of those in the US.

They're my faves, too, but not all shops seems to sell them anymore.  :(
