I love Morrisons.

You know what, I freaking love Morrisons too!!

I drive like a half hour on a saturday to get to a Morrisons that I like, I have one that I can walk to, but its no where near as nice as the one in Cheadle...how funny is that! And the butchers is fantastic, as is the fishmongers.

To be honest, I hadn't noticed the price of food going up until someone here mentioned it, I only noticed the price of butter going up. I spend what I need to spend, it doesn't bother me.

This could really be a huge issue for a lot of people. I spoke to my Mom the other day (in the US) and she and her siblings are going to get a Sam's Club or Costco membership and stock up on loads of stuff soon. Rice, pasta, and meat in particular.

We're planning to go to the Newcastle Costco in June to stock up as much as we can.
A big news item in the US. Costco is rationing rice.

Yup, you can't buy more than 4 of those huge-honking bags at a time. I know I'm petrified I'll run out!  ::) I can see it affecting catering business or things like that who might buy from them, but it doesn't affect most people.

I'd have chickens if this place were ours, but alas.  Also they eat whatever you are growing so they have to be well-segregated from your crop.

I have to do the big shop tonight, we are literally out of everything.
We were away for the 2nd half of April and have avoided the supermarket until now. I am dreading how expensive its going to be...and I have to buy all the big ticket items, butter, eggs, cheese, salad, meat, etc
Good things come to those who wait...a really long time.

Why yes, I have seen that.  DAILY.  My eleven year old's latest obsession is getting chickens. :X ::) And coming up with new and creative ways to ask for them.

I hatch chickens every year with my class (just put them in the incubator today!). I'd probably keep some for fresh eggs and stuff, but live in an apartment and can't. Those Omlet things do look good.

What do you do with them once they are hatched?

I keep them at school for a few weeks, then find people who do raise them and are willing to take them.

55p? I remember when it came in bottles that you returned to the shop and got 2p back!

On the plus side the price of Discovery jalepenos has gone down by about 30p at Tesco!!

A bottle of coke, or even just a water bottle, out of the coke machine at my school cost $1.75 and the cans are $.95. I keep a stash of water bottles in my backpack and car so I don't have to pay those prices!
