Oat bran is the bran from the oat.   :)  They should sell it as such...though I'm not sure if they call it that here in the UK.  I think I saw it in Holland & Barrett's.  If not it'd probably be in Whole Foods . Fresh 'n Wild.

Yep I saw oat bran in Holland and Barretts today as a matter of fact.  (But I was looking for plain old Aloe Vera gel & went there on a hunch they would have it - and they did!) :)

Mrs. - Was it pure Aloe -- or added ingredients?  Love the pure!

No it has some stuff added - I just looked at the label.  I wanted some for sunburn remedy (just in case) but without the menthol-y stuff added.

They sell a variety of Aloe stuff - this gel, capsules, juice.  Not sure if some of that might be purer?  Maybe.

I think there was a cereal called OatBran, but I'm thinking that it was NOT just oat bran in it, and they were just using the name as a marketing technique to make people THINK it was healthy.

Ok, quick lesson that I researched a few years ago...

Wholegrain = bran, germ, and the endosperm

So when you're looking for a healthy form of a grain, you go for the wholegrain.  So whole wheat is wheat with it's bran, germ, and endosperm.  Whole oats are oats with their bran, germ, and endosperm.  The endosperm is the least healthy part of the grains.  The other two provide nutritional benefits and should be left in.

You can buy these separately too....
Oat bran
Oat germ
Wheat bran
Wheat germ

GL!
