I have 2 boxes of Jell-o brand vanilla pudding...
« on: May 15, 2008, 08:33:42 PM »
...what would you do with them?

(NB I have no Nilla Wafers and making it just as pudding is a given!!)  ;)

Looking for some inspiration!!

I would follow the pie instruction on the side of the box, and add some grated lemon or lime zest.

Then make a crust out of shortcrust pastry or digestives.

Do you have oreos or somewhere to get them? I would make Oreo pie

I always liked to make pumpkin fluff- (not going to help you any if you don't have pumpkin though)- take vanilla pudding and make it up, add a can of pumpkin and a ton of whipped cream, ,some pumpkin pie spice and mix it all up until its very fluffy and eat with graham crackers

Also good to make parfaits- berries, pudding, whipped cream, crushed up digestives

"Sex in the bowl" - crush up chocolate biscuits, add them to the pudding, whipped cream, berries, whatever you fancy that think would taste good

Personal fav- vanilla pudding with fresh pitted cherries added in

i've got a really good pumpkin pie recipe that uses it, but that's not exactly summery.

Yes, I looked there. Just thought I'd see what other people might have up their sleeves!

Thanks for the ideas. I like the pumpkin ones but I think I am looking for something a tad more summery (though our sun has disappeared today after being here for over a week!!).

I am eyeing that 'sex in a bowl' I have to say!  ;D

YOu can get Nilla wafers at a shop in Milton Keynes called let's eat.  They serve food but also have quite the selection of American products and spices and lots of other things!  They do have a website, but I'll have to look it up.  They had Nilla wafers last time I was there along with Mountain Dew, lots of american candy, cake mixes, chocolate chips and baking chocolate, hot chocolate mix, betty crocker scalloped potatoes, rice a roni and lots of other things that were surprising!  They do change out their stock, but you never know what you'll find!  Also, I've seen oreos at Tesco and Waitrose in my area 20 minutes from Bedford.
