Oxygen Tank
« on: June 03, 2008, 09:08:37 PM »
My father in law is coming to visit in a couple of weeks, he's not very well and has chest/lung problems (he shouldn't be flyng /travelling) but I think he wants to visit his sisters in Germany / Italy  for the last time  :(  Anyway they are spending a week with us whilst we are on holiday in Cornwall, and have asked us about if we can get him an oxygen tank just in case??  Any ideas?

You could speak to the doctors surgery but it is very specialist and you might be unable to get one, the best people to talk to are your doctors they may be able to advice who to speak to or where the best place to go to is.

We just lent out a wheelchair charger and the lady had problems getting a shower chair the spear one we had was not suitable, so an oxygen tank will I would think prove more difficult to get hold of.

Could they not bring one with them I think you can take them on the planes with a medical note from a doctor?.

I hope we get better weather with the new year I am getting rained out.

Good luck to everyone with respective visa applications.

The best thing to do is speak to your family doc in the UK. They may be able to point you in the right direction to supply a small cylinder or even hire a portable oxygen concentrator machine.
