Goodbye Social services, hello Tourist Assistant

I am totally psyched!!  ;D

So long social services dept and hello Tourist Assistant!

I am now the proud owner of the title of Tourist Assistant!!! Whoo hoo!!!

I worked there last year for 6 months during the summer tourist season and really did like it. But sadly l had to leave in Sept as the contract was up. This was working for a temp group.  Now, l am employed through the Council!! Whoo hoo! (l think) lol

I am leaving some great families through the social services dept, but working 16 hours a week isn't cutting it and the hours and work can change within the hour.

I applied for this new job with the council back in March and was hired but they couldn't offer me the job until l got my police check back and tada it came back on Friday and the boss called me right away and said "We are skipping the usual induction training since you've already worked here and l am nabbing you before anyone else does!"

l have a scheduled 2 days next week and she said there will be loads more!! And the best part of it is is that l get to work at the Palace Stables instead of the Tourist Information Centre, but there is a def possibility that l will work there again!

l am so excited!!! Yeah!!!

here is a link of the areas l will be assigned to! it's really awesome and the first place l am being assigned to is the Palace Stables! Great Georgian times. It's funny the Stables date is July 23, 1776!!! Hmm, just after our Independence day!! lol

Thanks everyone!!

Sadly, l must keep the social services job for now!  :-\\\\   I will still continue to work both jobs since they can't guarentee me a lot of hours at the Tourist Place. And l found out that they are closing the site l work at right now in Sept so l will definitely have to keep the SS job. UGH!!!!

I did work yesterday and today at the Palace Stables and it's killing me!! lol   Today l had to go and guard a pond and direct children through the paths. Had some really cheeky boys from this one town. They were around 11-12 year olds! BRATS!!!! Then we have this wonderful show there called the living history area, found out today the council was closing it down to open up offices there!  ::)   Why do they do this?  It is a very historical part of Armagh and they are closing it for offices!  [smiley=dunce.gif]
