Maybe they're just making up their burgers and adding American cities into their names?

I think they are just trying to use up a load of bacon and Jack cheese before it goes off!!

you could always order one sans dead moo-cow.

I went to school with a girl who was a Jain Hindu..she used to go to Maccy D's every day and order a 'Cheeseburger no meat'.  I never understood why she didn't just get a cheese sandwich!!!

Maybe they're just making up their burgers and adding American cities into their names?

Next thing you'll be telling me it's just an advertising gimmick....  ::)

Because the cheeseburgers taste awesome sans meat- which is why sometimes I make a grilled cheese sandwich with ketchup and pickles and mustard if I'm up for it

They like their streaky bacon, don't they?

Well so do I! I love streaky bacon!

Sorry, no new reviews today of McDonalds newest offering the New York Supreme. I walked past and the queue was too long so I took a pass. Plus I am doing this as a semi-scientific experiment ... ie, if McDonalds is too busy, don't go for it, because no matter how good it might be, it's bound to come out shite because when they're busy that's the way they all come out from the Big Mac to the Quarterpounder with Cheese.

Although I do have to say there was a lovely aroma of burger/fries emanating from my local McDonalds today ... I think it best to order one of these babies when they're slow and quiet, this way the cook has to make one from fresh.

For those who requested what the other burgers are meant to be all about, I grabbed a flyer:

New York Supreme (June 4-10): 100% beef patty, streaky bacon, cheese, tomato, Batavia lettuce and cool mayo all in a split top sesame bun.
California Classic (June 11-17): 100% beef patty, streaky bacon, cheese made with Monterey Jack, crisp lettuce, onions and a "SunBlush" tomato sauce all in a split top sesame bun.
Arizona Grande (June 18-24): 100% beef patty, streaky bacon, cheese with peppers, crisp lettuce, onions and black pepper mayo all in a chilli and chive topped sesame bun.

None of them sound particularly authentic (ie, I would have thought the California burger would at least have guac) but basically my motivation for posting this thread is for fun and increase my posting totals, which I notice are lagging horribly behind that of my beautiful, lovely and talented wife, Britwife, who has something like 80 million posts now. xxx

Hopefully I'll get a medal if I can survive McDonalds 4 times this month. I'm not sure what they give you around UK-Yankee once you hit 100 posts. I suppose sometime around 2009 I'll find out.

Anyway, next review on the New York Classic tomorrow! Peace out! GO HALOS!

Yes, they all sound more or less the same to me...  Hmmmm.

Funny enough Dh & I went to Mc'D's for dinner tonight we both had the New York Supreme burger with onion rings also had the the Oreo & Toffee Mcflurry. that was the best meal either of us have had from McDonald's in long time. the Burger was basically a loaded bacon cheeseburger but man was it ever good.  ;D Dh even had a McFlurry he doesn't do desserts but he enjoyed it himself.  :o The California Classic comes out next week it has Monterey Jack cheese on it yeah baby.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]  I told Dh we might be eating at McD's the next 2 Wednesday's for dinner.  ::) We go an see Dh's friends every Wednesday night unless something comes up so we usually have dinner at McDonald's because it is on the way to there house. we haven't had a meal there in almost 4 months or so neither of us had really fancied it till now. I highly recommend trying the burger, the onion rings & the Oreo & Toffee McFlurry pure heaven to me lol. ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I had the Miami Melt - but they were out of that special cheese/onion sauce 'cuz mine was loaded with mayo...ugh. I am trying the burgers too...they actually had this promo last year about this time with 4 different 'Great Tastes of America' burgers (and yes, last year all 4 had streaky bacon). The ones I remember from last year are the New York Special, a California one, The 'Chicago Works' and the Texas Grande (which had guacamole on it...sooo good. Wish the Arizona one did, I come from there and was disappointed this one just has some pepper mayo).

Anyways this is my new favourite thread too!!!

OK as part 2 of my mini Morgan Spurlock expedition I have tried out the New York Supreme. This, I have to say was a damn good burger.

Now, I know my reviews may pale in comparison to say, the Observer Food Monthly, et al., however ... when we are talking about about McDonalds's it really comes down to two things: 1) was a good burger or 2) was it a crap burger.

After sampling the Miami Melt last week (8 out of 10 stars) I had the New York Classic the other night with onion rings.

I have to say the New York Classic fell slightly short of the Miami Melt in this particular competition, however, it was still a DAMN GOOD BURGER.

7.5 stars out of 10.

Next go, I think is the California burger. This is where McDonalds willl really earn their stars from your humble reviewer.

These are all damn good burgers so far, my recommendation is to ... eat 'em.
