I haven't posted that much but I've been on this site daily for a few months now.
Bit of background:
I'm a USC, my wife is the UKC. We got married in the US in 2001; moved to the UK on a visitor visa in 2002. I didn't really know what I was doing with regards to proper immigration procedure as I was only 18. I assumed it would be fine. I overstayed a few times and used the visitor visa to live in the UK. I was never denied entry to the UK, I was never deported, or caught overstaying, but it was obvious from my travel history.
We've had 3 children from 2002 to 2006. My wife was on benefits and my in-laws helped with anything else we needed. I never worked but I did get a job offer for me to start when I get back to the UK legally.
I had many previous criminal convictions from when I was younger (14-17) but they were mostly traffic fines and stupid teenage boy stuff.
I was upfront with everything and didn't hide anything.
I did have a lot of help from
Victoria Sharkey. She helped me with EVERY aspect of the case and prepared a great cover letter arguing my case. She also made sure I had every document needed. Thank you Victoria.
I got my visa approved in just a few days. It should be back in my hands any day now.
Thanks to everyone for helping me with many little questions, even if I never asked them.
