Spousal Visa - income from job in America?
« on: June 13, 2008, 05:56:40 PM »
We're moving to London from the US on a Spousal Visa. I've delayed filing for the Visa until our house was sold so our financial situation was more clear. When I gave notice to my employer that I was moving to London, they offered to keep me on part-time as a consultant. I can do most of my job remotely via the Internet. The terms aren't completely worked out, but I expect to make about $30,000 before US taxes. Should I include this as part of how I plan to support us in the UK?

I don't have a job in the UK yet and I'm trying to make as strong a case as possible that we can support ourselves until I find a job. Would this help, or just cloud the picture because of US taxes, UK taxes, etc?

Thanks,
Brian
