31 when I went back to university and realized the difference  in commitment between an older student and the young 'uns.  But then I was just an older, more focused kid.  It was a shock at 37 when I started teaching high school and actually dealt with individuals who saw me as old and out of touch....

18. I was only a week graduated from high school when I moved from Cincinnati OH to Lake Charles, LA to attend university (and live with a guy who became the EX 3 years later but we wont go there)

33 or 34--when I took my first solo trip abroad to England and N. Ireland.  I needed it to pay for my flight--that was before you could use your debit card to pay online, it was pretty much before online anything.

Probably about 17 when I realised, somewhere in mid 20's when I actually worked at it.

I never got suspended from school. I was a model student. I waited until my twenties to really eff things up.

Hard to say as a divorce split the family right down the middle, half to mom, half to dad
so technically I was not with the whole family. Does that count?

I did a Christmas dinner when I was 17 and on my own. But the guests were dad, sister and their spouses. Does that count?

The first one (Thanksgiving) totally alone was 18. Dinner was on the Navy.

12.  I won an award at my elementary school graduation ceremony.  Something like "Best all-around student"  I was absolutely stupefied--had not a clue how I managed that other than the fact that my teacher in 6th grade was fond of me and I was a very good student, but not a brainiac by any stretch of the imagination.  Anyway, the certificate came with $25 which my parents encouraged me to deposit into the bank, and so I did.  I basically still have the same account though the bank has changed names several times over the past 20 years!
