Of my own, I was three and it was a kitten named Dang It. They let me name her myself. I have no idea why I chose a toddler's version of a swear word for the name, or why the allowed it. 

How old were you when you did your first walk/bikeathon or other sporty thing for charity?

I was 31; it was an Earth Day 5K, but I can't remember which local charity it funded.  I know my mother took me to some walk-a-thons when I was a child, but I don't remember what any of them were....

How old were you when you learned to swim?

Other than flapping and splashing about in the local lake, I was 8 when I had my first swim lessons.

How old were you when you went into the dentist's exam room by yourself?

I can't remember my mom ever coming into the dentist exam room with me.  I do remember his wife (was a hygienist, I think) was always there as a comforting presence as well as an older grandmom-type lady (an assistant?) who always held my hand if I needed it.

Also, we always got to pick a small toy from the 'toy drawer' afterwards for being brave!

How old were you when you first had to stay overnight in a hospital (not counting birth)?

I was 10yrs old that I remember and it was on Christmas Eve. I was really sick for a few days and ended up getting really dehydrated so they had to take me to the ER and I stayed there over night while they nursed me back to health!

I still do!  Not all the time, but sometimes.

I was 11, and had started earning money babysitting, in addition to grandma paying us outrageously for helping her out. She always had, but as we got older she gave us even more.

Hmm, about 14, I think?

18 my high school hosted a senior class dinner party.

How old were you when you bought your own place?

I'm still waiting for that one. I've always rented, but would love to one day own our own place.
