I don't ever remember being scared to go outside in the dark.

How old were you when you first wore high heels?

8...for some professional photos parents had taken of us. There was also velour and polyester involved!

How old were you when you started getting up on your own for school (set your own alarm and all)?

Haha, I honestly don't think until college. Maybe towards the end of high school but I think there was usually some maternal urging involved as well as the alarm. (I really don't like to wake up in the mornings).

How old were you when you said I love you to someone romantically for the first time?

I was a late bloomer in that area, due to the fact my best friend in high school was male, and we were always together so everyone thought we were dating.  ::) I was 20 when I had my first serious boyfriend, since the best friend and I continued spending nearly every non working waking hour together even after school.

How old were you when you had your first serious argument with a friend?

I was well into my 20s, I just didn't feel ready for a serious relationship for a long time.

About 23.  The weird thing is that friend now lives near me here in the UK!  When I found her I tried to revive the friendship, but she was still behaving in the same way, even after 20+ years.  :-\\\\

TPBM has more than one middle name.

Technically true, according to my birth certificate. But for SSN and driver licence and all other purposes, my maiden name is the only middle name I use.

TPBM is currently re-reading a favourite book.

ETA: Whoops! Got the games crossed. :P Oh, well, then - how old were you when you first read your favourite book? :)

Ooops!  Sorry I got the games crossed!  :D

Hmmm.  Favorites change though!  I had a book about naughty kittens who spilled paint everywhere (it taught how colors mix and become new colors) when I was about 5.  When I was about 12 I read, 'Are You There God?  It's Me, Margaret' which I read multiple times.  With many favorites in between I'll skip ahead to age 26 when I read 'The Mists of Avalon'.  Skipping ahead to my 30s it was 'Gossamer Axe' (don't ask!).  I've had and still have many more favorites, not all of them fiction, either.

How old were you when you started having serious music favorites?

I still have a copy of "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret", and I will probably never give it up because it meant so much to me when I was 9 through about 12, even though I will probably never read it again. Then again, I will probably read it one more time for old times' sake.  ;D

I was four, and completely into KISS, thanks to my uncles. I'm still a fan.

How old were you when you first decided to pierce something - ears included?

22. I finally got my ears pierced and then a few months later I accidentally broke the one set of good earrings I had (I'm super sensitive to metals) when I was drunk one night and they closed back up within a couple of weeks. Never got them re-pierced and I don't have anything else pierced, either.

I remember my friend across the street read it (she was one year older than me).  Her mom thought I was too young for it, but I read it anyway.  I might have been younger than 12, but can't really remember for sure now.  That's cool you still have it!

How old were you when beer started to taste good?
Yuck.  That still hasn't happened.  BUT when we were in the lake district last year I tried a local brew that was called Czarry Czarry Night.  It was very strong and made with chocolate.  It was fairly tasty, but I only had a few sips.  Must have been the chocolate!

I was 19 when I first started working full time at the local amusement park. Prior to that, I babysat and had a few families so I was able to make quite a bit of money in high school and just after. Then again, I suppose the summer I was 14 and babysat for the twins down the road might count as full time since I watched them the whole time their mom was at work, but I was only making teenage babysitting wages, so I don't actually count it.

How old were you when you first had to do chores around the house?

I can't remember, really. I know I was 9 when I started staying home alone, with lists of chores to finish before the day was done, but I had already been doing them without lists long before. I think I was about 5 when I learned to vacuum and mop, and pretty much from that point on, floors were my responsibility.

The first time I was 19, and they were from my best friend. He sent me three yellow roses and a huge balloon for Valentine's Day, and six roses to another of our friends that he had a crush on. Other than that, I was 20 and it was another friend who had a crush on me. He sent a MONSTER sized bouquet to me the following Valentine's Day, because he had a crush on me and wanted to outdo the 'other guy' who didn't mean anything romantic by his.  ;D

How old were you when you first discovered you truly had a talent for something?

6 or 7?  I put a load of baby powder in the toilet.  Don't know why I did it, and I didn't even flush it down (hence, I got caught).

How old were you when you first lied to your parents (even if you never got caught)?
