Hi all!

Another newbie here!

I'm posting in this thread as we're in Surrey too.  Guildford,  Cobham,  Wimbledon Wallington and now.....

Weybridge!!

I'm UK wife and my husband's the dearest, kindest mid-western country boy.  It's been a huge change for him as I'm definitely a London girl - grew up in north London and went through the whole sixties thing during my late teens and early twenties - phew- I don't envy Londoners now as it's become really tacky.

Anyway - my BF is slowly getting used to the impact of urban life.  The latest thing is getting to grips with setting up phone banking - he's pretty cool at it now - except all the call centres seem to be in Scotland, and each entire conversation is a series of 'pardon - say that again slowly'  'Sorry - I don't understand your accent'.  It's amazing the interminable little things we have to get used to.

Anyone else got any silly little obstacles they'd like to share - just for fun.

Hello LBP and welcome to UKY!  I hope you don't mind but I split your topic as it deserves it's own intro.  :)

I wish I could add a little story of my own, but as I have yet to move I will have to hold off until I do have one.

I hope your midwest man continues to smile through the adjustments!
