I love that she posts all the food packs, it makes me a bit jealous of all the good stuff she buys in the states!!

Thanks for the link! I ended up not making it through my year of a new food each day, the month of May killed me, but more power to her if she can do it!  :)

Oh, some of those recipes look really good (especially the desserts!).  I'm going to make the mac 'n cheese tomorrow.

Is it okay to leave your slow cooker on while you are out for the day (ie work)?

I made her mac 'n cheese recipe (except I used almost 500g of pasta) and it was fab!  I like just throwing the ingredients in a pot and having it cook itself!!

Thanks for the link! I only just came across this and am now determined to break out my never-used crockpot.

But I'm a total beginner. Can anyone recommend a recipe from this site that is totally fool-proof? Chicken or beef would be ideal.

My crock pot doesn't have a timer on it, so I bought one of those socket timers and can set it for the crock pot to turn on at a certain time if I need to.

I can't think of one off the top of my head right now, but I've had good luck with ones I've found on Recipezaar. I've also just done soups and stews in there easily.

This is one of the staple crock pot dishes most people give a whirl at some point or another:

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
