That match was incredible.  I was cheering for Roger, but when it was all said and done, I was not disappointed that Rafa won.  He was so modest and humble afterwards.  I am now going to go into Tennis withdrawal!

Best match I can remember seeing for years, I was cheering Roger but I'm not disappointed that he didn't win.  Just fantastic!

It was a great match, but I always get more excited when the final isn't between the top two seeds.  What can I say ... I'm a sucker for a Cinderella story. Maybe next year!  :-\\\\

I know what you mean Chary it's always exciting when a lower ranked player breaks through but Nadal and Federer are so far above everyone else's game it just wasn't going happen. I'm so happy Nadal won though, Federer's had 5 wins here, time for a new champion! I really enjoyed watching the final.

Did anyone see the interview with Laura Robson, the 14 year old British girl who won the juniors?  Apparently she asked Marat Safin (twice her age!) to the champion's ball but he declined. So sweet!

Great match! I was a nervous wreck by the last set..

same here!

i had to leave the room at times.

i couldn't take it.

fed was getting so wound up and showing passion and even anger!  it was a whole new side of him, the feisty fed.

nadal's dad couldn't even sit.

even borg was sitting straight up and my sister said mcenroe could hardly contain himself.

I was so bummed we didn't get to hear McEnroe's commentary! Andrew Castle is useless! He was going on about set points at one point when it was nowhere near the end of the set!

McEnroe is a brilliant commentator, isn't he!?

McEnroe is the best tennis commentator/presenter.  I read somewhere recently (paper? web? I can't remember) that the Beeb paid him £200,000 to work with the BBC team.  That is a lot of squid for two weeks, especially when you consider they don't use him as the main guy for the championships.   ???

I was watching on NBC yesterday, so I got to hear McEnroe's commentary (although off-hand I can't really recall any particular phrases he was saying). It's been quite interesting because I found a way to watch on the BBC site too, so I'll be listening to McEnroe in the BBC box and then also hear him on the TV for NBC later on in the day, lol.

And I've encountered doorknobs that were less wooden than Henman, who can't really relate to that level of tennis at all.

The first couple of matches that Henman did I spent half the time wondering if he was still there - he barely said a thing! I thought the clip of him in the studio with the croaky voice and then McEnroe appeared and started teasing him about it was funny though :).
