Best in Show is hilarious.  Different strokes I suppose.

Totally agree. One of my favourite movies EVER. I'll laugh at anything Christopher Guest does though....

'I have two left feet, no really. pan down to his two left feet

I LOVE that movie, I even bought it! My boyfriend would definitely put it on his 'movies not to rent' list. He absolutely hated it.

we saw Handcock tonight...Not really into the whole "suoerhero" movie thing. It was a good movie until about half way through. Would be worth renting. Not something I would put in my collection though.

Oh and defo not suitable for kids under 13 ....

You know what....I might have just been in a blah mood that day...So I will try it again...
people keep telling me that movie was better as you get into it. But I watched the first 30...and was bored to tears
I'd just like to put my vote in for hating "Best in Show".  Just did not think it was even remotely funny.  So don't feela badly RLTW if you still don't like it when you give it another shot.

'10,000 BC' just came out on DVD here, and all I can say is

Bad, bad acting.

Does the UK have Netflix or Blockbuster online type services? I would think that it's caught on all over by now. I don't know how I lived before I got blockbuster online. I absolutely LOVE movies and for $19.95 a month, I get to order all the movies online that I want. They send me 3 at a time and when I'm done, I return them to my neighborhood store to mail back and I can pick out 3 movies in store. I get coupons for free game rentals and no late fees either. My kids and family use this nonstop. Their catalog is so large too. I've had fun watching old movies and old TV shows lately.

Yeah, they've had similar services in the UK for a few years now - I know Blockbuster has one, there's LOVEFiLM, and there's also one through Amazon.co.uk too. I did a free trial a couple of years ago (can't remember which company now, but I got 500 free Boots Advantage Card points for doing it  :P)... it wasn't a bad service, but I think Netflix in the US is much better value (although I can only afford to do the $8.99, one-DVD-at-a-time option) - I like that you can watch a lot online too... I'm not sure if any of the UK services currently offer this.

We had Amazon rental here for a couple years and we liked it.  Recently Amazon has been bought by Lovefilm.  We'll see whether that changes things at all.  So far, the only difference I can see is the way we're supposed to rank films.  We receive the dvd's in the post, keep them as long as we want, and return them by post.

Lovefilm looks like a good way to go...but on the 9.99 a month plan...about how many movies can you actually get a month. Is it worth it? I already pay 2.50 a movie....

It'll probably depend on the speed of the postal service. Here in the US, I pay $8.99 a month and get about 2 DVDs per week if I watch the day I get them and then send them back the next morning (one sent at a time), so that's about 8 DVDs for $9 a month (plus tax).

An example: I get a DVD on Monday, watch it Monday night and post it Tuesday morning. Netflix usually receive it on Wednesday and then send another one right away so I get it Thursday. If I send that one back Friday, they hopefully get it Saturday and send another for Monday... so that's usually 2 per week.
