Wow, that's super quick! Congrats! I became eligible to apply yesterday, so I rang up to get an appointment for the NCS today. Plenty of availability in Southwark, but my fiance and I have to give notice to marry also so I wanted to kill two birds with one stone and only trek down there and take the time off work once. And apparently Southwark have lovved up couples coming out their ears, as the first available appointment for the marriage stuff is 15th October... oh well, I've waited since 2002 for this, I can wait a few more weeks...
Summer 97 - first visited friends in London

How long was the wait between the time the credit card was approved and the time the application was acknowledged?

I know the money has been taken off my credit card; I'm paranoid about someone in my block of flats taking my mail - it's happened before.

My acknowledgment letter was dated about a week later, I'll look tonight and let you know.

Did anyone else apply around August time?  I applied using the NCS service in August. I received my acknowledgement letter in normal time but haven't heard a thing since. I know this can take several months but just wondering if anyone else has heard anything?

I sent off my app today!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Indy

The ceremony was a great experience, everyone clapped for each other as we went up to get our certificates.  There was a grandfather and his granddaughter (looked about 12) and a Mother and her son (looked about 5) which was cool to see.  I'm sure a lot of people there went through a lot more to get to this point.

The Deputy Mayor gave us our certificates and he told me I was his first American and he said he had done quite a few!

A good friend of mine here is having her British citizenship ceremony on Thanksgiving Day (that Thursday) - lol!  How cool & funny (possibly ironic?) is that?!!!  :D
