Well, this is kind of quirky, but yesterday when my husband and I drove into Halifax to grab a bite to eat, we were sitting in the parking lot of the restaurant (Burger King......we had a craving....lol) and I noticed that in a corner of the building, lying on the ground, was a pigeon. It was very still, hardly moving at all, and I saw that its right wing didn't look quite right. So after watching it for a few minutes until we sure that it was indeed injured, we called the RSPCA to ask their advice. They asked if we could take it home and look after it until we'd be able to get it to a vet, but unfortunately, we knew there was no way his brother would want a pigeon in the house, and secondly, we wouldn't be able to get to the vet for days, due to his work schedule. Not only that, but neither of us knew how to care for a bird, apart from feeding. lol So Steven (my husband) went inside and told them about the bird, asking if anyone would be able to look after the poor thing, and they said they'd get something squared away to help it, since it obviously had a broken wing. Steven asked if he could get a bit of bread to take out to it, and he came back out and fed the bird, who came right up to him and ate out of his hand. I think the bird may have been a homing pigeon because it had a little band around its leg, and it was extremely friendly. Even tried to hop into the car with me! (Though I wasn't exactly having that. lol) Anyway, so after we'd sat and looked after the pigeon for a bit and made sure it had a bit to eat and would be looked after by an employee, we went home. So in quirky way, I guess looking after the injured bird was my most recent good deed. lol Does that qualify?
