More site problems?
« on: July 10, 2008, 10:16:26 PM »
Every time I have visited the site today while at work AND at home, my antivirus has gone bananas and even crashed my browser once. I would advise anyone who isn't running Firefox with the NoScript add-on to try to stay away for now!

Can this be looked into ASAP? My script blocker says its running from pinoc.org but there is nothing on google and when I tried to visit the actual site, NOD32 blocked it outright and said it was on the list of websites with potentially dangerous content. Is this another exploit that needs to be looked into?
I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

I think Genau has had the same problem today. It's been working fine for me, though.

Are you running an AV? It seems a bit worrying that both my home and work AV started blocking content today. Don't want anyone to come down with something nasty :)

I've not had any problems either.  However, I am on a Mac, so...  :-\\\\

AVG reported the pinoc.org.  According to the report, it tried to attach to the explorer executable.  I cleaned it successfully.

At work on the PC, my antivirus went mad as well.  Kept saying it was a Trojan virus.  At home on the Mac, no issues.
I am the architect of my destiny.

AVG here too, but it didn't detect or report anything. And my AVG software is completely updated.  ???

I keep getting scripts blocked form google-analyze.org & pinoc.org and according to domain registry they are registered to the same person, some John Vernet or something like that. Almost certainly a hack, everyone be careful and make sure you've got some kind of anti-virus or script blocker!!!!

Probably Windows specific, you lucky Mac users :D

I use Windows, though.

I'm completely baffled.

Any idea what it was? Was it malicious or something with the site? Just wondering how (if at all) compromised my machine was! :)

Hmm.  I hadn't been able to use the "Quote" button most of the day, but wrote it off to cookie issues (which has been the case previously).  But now it's working, so I guess this Mac user didn't get off completely! ;)

There is a security issue with the gallery, I've taken it offline until Sunday when I can upgrade. In short, there was a mysql injection attack which allowed someone to overwrite a forum file which added an iframe calling a rogue webpage. Apologies for the inconvenience and cheers for the quick spot of the problem.
