Who's getting married in 2009?!

I'm right there with you.  Not "officially" engaged, and I have no ring.  And I'm getting married in 2 months!  I have no idea how this happened.  Haha.

I'm glad it's not just me! I have to say, though, it's all very convenient for my bf ... not having to buy a ring.

I have to say, though, that I've been married for 10 years and STILL don't have an engagement ring. 

We went to see the wedding coordinator at our venue on Saturday so we have a date now! The rather auspicious 19 Sept 2009 - 19.09.09 ha!

It's a good thing we've got a whole year before the wedding because we're going to need every single day of that to save up to pay for it, my god. We're not being frivolous in the slightest and we still choked at the total. Though speaking to (married) friends the last few days, it sounds like we're actually getting a really good deal for our numbers and services... But still!

At least the stuff that's left should only be a couple hundred quid - I'm making my dress and the two bridesmaids' dresses, we've got friends who are photographers and bakers, his aunt is a florist, and his suit shouldn't be more than £300. Fingers crossed!

Thanks! I don't think I made a real announcement as we're technically not engaged yet. I'm just hoping I get an engagement ring before I get a wedding ring! 

Add me to this list! Unless things take a drastic turn, it looks like it will be 4 April 2009 in the US. I got off the phone with my mom a couple of hours ago and I'm fairly certain the news has made it's way across the east coast!

Now if that ring would just get here....

J-Man already responded on our behalf but I just thought it was great that there will be multiple couples getting hitched on April 4th, 2009. I love that the date is 04/04/09 no matter which country your from! I hope to be moved in to our home  in Leeds by May 1 and we will be celebrating again the mid May with family and friends who couldn't make it to the middle of America.  Yeah for 04/04/09 and weddings in general!

We got married in October 2007, but we are having a second more spiritual ceremony in October 2009.

As someone who lives in a boat that used to be a hotel, this is SO cool. And it's a gorgeous ship at that. I think we might have to go there next time we visit my parents (near Harrisburg).

there were lots of limitations & umming & awwings from my mother- but i used to work on tall ships & the boy loves fishing & the water so it was just freaking perfect for us.

AND it was the cheapest option in that part of philly.

my DH and I are planning on getting married January 3rd 2009 if I manage to get my finance visa approved <13 days til the 15 further working days stated by the LA Consulate hehe)

We are planning to do it on the cheap, at the registrar just he and I and the required witnesses. Then having a big giant party to celebrate with friends and family at a later date.
