American Foods in Britain
« on: July 18, 2008, 12:43:23 AM »
My friend just went into this British store in the UK today and it was brilliant, called Tesco's

Kellogs Corn Flakes
Maxwell House Coffee
Cheddar Cheese
Coca Cola (both diet and regular!!)
Mars Bars (be warned, its not a Mars Bar like we know - more like a Milky way)
Tomato Ketchup (Made by Heinz even!!)
Milk. (not sure if it is American milk)
Apples, both red and green. just like in the US

She stocked up good and proper........... She's all set!
It was just like being in Krogers back home!

I had to leave England because I couldn't find Hershey chocolate.

Cadbury just doesn't do it for me.

Yeah I know what you mean, Cadbury's chocolate is far too creamy compared to Hershey chocolate.

I got some potatos from the store and made real American Fries!
I swear, it was just like being home.

Cheddar cheese is American now?

Also it's safe to say, the milk in the UK isn't shipped all the way from America.  ;)

Did you think the UK was a third world country or something? You actually expected not to get milk, apples, coke and ketchup?  :-\\\\ Is this just another wind up thread?  ???
I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

This thread has made everyone in my pod wonder what I was laughing about.
Cheddar Cheese is American indeed! I remember growing up near the Cheddar Gorge in Pennsylvania! lol!

Wow - check this out: 'Cheddar cheese is a fairly hard, pale yellow to orange, sharp-tasting cheese originating from the English village of Cheddar, in Somerset. '. Who knew?  :P

And here I thought that all that plastic, bright orange, processed stuff I've been forcing myself to eat in the US for the last 6 months was the real, original Cheddar cheese :P!

Two posters, both new accounts.  I'd say so.  The thing about having to leave England because there is no Hershey's is a giveaway.  A) that would be ludicrous B) Hershey's is not that difficult to find  ;).

I don't know what to do with this thread! I might pee myself laughing if it weren't for the cheese topic! I'm leaving it up, but don't feed the trolls unless it's with some over processed orange rubber cheese! :P
