have many, many, many fav's but Trinity Fields by Bradford Morrow was one i read a few months ago and it has stuck in my mind as one of the best books i have read in years.  About two boys who grew up living in Los Alamos, New Mexico near the nuclear testing sites and the things they lived through and the ways they grew apart through vietnam.  Great read, also has an incredible love story through out the book.  Definitely recomend this one!

Wow, I think you're the only other person I've met who reads Alice Hoffman!
I know I'm late - where's the booze?

Which is your favourite Hoffman book and have you read her latest?  There are several of her books in our local library. Have you found an author who is like her?

I think my favourite would have to be Turtle Moon. I really love the way she weaves reality with a bit of magic in her books.  I haven't read Blackbird House or Snow Queen yet but thanks for reminding me! Off the top of my head I can't think of another author that reminds me of her, you? And what's your favourite book?

Mindy, I've never met anyone else who likes Hoffman, I'm surprised! :) What's your favourite book?

PS: was just looking on Ebay for those books and someone is selling a proof copy of The Foretelling, her latest      childrens book which is to be released sometime          this year.

I just love Practical Magic, I love the quote where she's giving advise-don't trust men who call you baby or women who have no female friends-can't remember exactly what it said, but I think it's inspired.  I'm also a fan of Turtle Moon.

Memoirs of a Geisha
DaVinci Code
All of Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone books
Nora Roberts
The Outlander series
Also, anyone read The Alchemist by Paul Coelho?  It's a short read but full of
spiritual insight on fate and living your dreams, written in story form.  I totally recommend it.
